Victorian Era Context: The British Empire
For this project, my group's presentation is about The British Empire. We focus mainly on the relationship between England and India. We answered the 5 "Ws": What, Where, When, Why, and How. The British Empire also contributed historical context to The Sign of Four.
In the presentation, I illustrate the relationship between England and India—the wants and needs of England, in addition to the actual result India yielded from this relationship. Although we didn't completely associate The Sign of Four with our project, we learned about the historical context behind it.
For this project, our teamwork came through really well. We fairly divided our work, and everyone took on certain responsibilities for the project. All of us did research about the British Empire, so everyone would know about it in great detail. But for the presentation in class, we decided that each individual would only present a certain part. It is our first group presentation, so we lacked confident at first.

Conan Doyle Short Story and Analysis Project
My group's short story is "A Scandal in Bohemia", the first of Conan Doyle's short stories. In this presentation, we summarize the plot of the story with a PowerPoint animation. We also outline some insightful excerpts from the short story that are relevant to our essay topics.
I was responsible for producing this visual. By using the animation feature of PowerPoint, I added movement into the presentation. Then I transferred this presentation into a short movie through Screen-Cast. I was satisfied with our group performance for this presentation. When I showed the movie, I also narrated the plot. When I made the movie, I forgot to factor in the possibility of getting nervous. So my narration was slower than the speed of the movie. However, it turned out well. My group mates also provided interesting excerpts and insightful analysis.

Cinematic Elements Presentation
In this presentation, we teach the class about the use of framing and camera angle. We used many scenes from the Sherlock Holmes films that we watched to analyze the use of camera angle and its effect.
For this presentation, I was responsible for analyzing the scenes and explaining the effect the specific camera angle had on a specific scene. I posted many scene pictures, and started to explain everything I saw - from camera angle to the movements to the framing. I think our presentation is okay, but not perfect. We could have done a better job if we had more time to work on our presentation. However, I think the scene analysis shows depth.
